Torsion springs are the most common type of springs used on garage doors.  It is critical to have the correct size springs in order to maintain a properly balanced garage door.  When ordering replacement springs make sure to use the "How to Measure" section of this page.  This will ensure you get the correct springs.  Please do not guess which springs the garage door needs.  The door will not balance properly and may cause damage or injury.

Garage doors come from the manufacturer with springs rated for around 10,000 cycles.  If the garage door is used more then once a day we recommend that you have us convert your springs to 25,000+ cycles.  Converting the springs will increase the wire size and length.  Do not try to convert the springs yourself.  The door will not balance properly and may cause damage or injury.  Springs that are over 32 inches long or have wire size larger then 0.250 can't be converted to high cycle.

WARNING: Torsion springs, extension springs, and related door hardware can cause serious injury or death if not handled and installed properly. Professional installation is recommended.

Do NOT attempt to install springs or hardware yourself unless you have the proper tools, reasonable mechanical aptitude and experience, and upper arm strength. Read and understand all instructions before you begin work.

Extension and torsion springs, along with attached hardware, are under extreme tension at all times. All tension must be released from springs before any work is performed.
