The Genie ALKT1-R Aladdin Connect Internet Connection Kit is a universal smart garage door controller that upgrades most existing openers to Wi‑Fi, app, and voice control. Installed alongside your current wall control, the retrofit kit lets you monitor door status, open or close the garage from anywhere, and receive instant activity alerts through the Aladdin Connect app for iOS and Android. It supports rules and schedules, such as auto-closing after a set time or at a specific hour, and lets you share secure, time-bound virtual keys with family, guests, or service providers. The system works with popular smart home platforms including Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Samsung SmartThings for hands-free voice control and simple automation.
Designed for residential upgrade and replacement applications, the ALKT1-R is compatible with most major-brand garage door openers made since 1993 that include operational safety sensors. One kit manages up to three garage doors when you add extra door position sensors (sold separately). Setup requires a 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi network in the garage, mounting the door control module near the opener, wiring it to the opener’s wall-button terminals, attaching the included door position sensor to the door, and completing app-based calibration. For certain proprietary wall-control systems, connection at the wall console or a brand-specific adapter may be required. When closing by app or voice, the controller provides audible/visual pre-movement warnings in accordance with modern remote-operation safety practices. The unit is powered by a standard household outlet via the included low-voltage adapter.
