How do I program a Digi-Code DC-MAG remote?
Step 1: Set the A/B Mode Switch
The DC-MAG remote is compatible with multiple brands, but you must first select the correct mode using the internal slide switch.
- [cite_start]
- Remove the lower front half of the case ("battery hatch") using a coin or the curved end of the visor clip[cite: 45, 46]. [cite_start]
- Locate the A/B Slide Switch next to the battery[cite: 47]. [cite_start]
- Set to Position "A": If you are using this remote for Allstar, GTO, or Mighty Mule systems[cite: 48]. [cite_start]
- Set to Position "B": If you are using this remote for MVP systems[cite: 49].
⚠ WARNING: Disconnect operator power before any installation or repair. [cite_start]Always wear safety glasses[cite: 18].
Step 2: Set the Code Switches
Once the mode is selected, you must set the 9-position trinary switches to match your system.
For Allstar, GTO, and Mighty Mule (Mode "A")
- [cite_start]
- Ensure the A/B switch is set to "A"[cite: 63]. [cite_start]
- Match Existing Remote: If you have a working remote, set the switches in the new DC-MAG to match your original remote exactly[cite: 65].
- Create New Code: If you do not have a working remote, create a unique pattern. [cite_start]DO NOT set all switches to the same position (all +, all -, or all 0)[cite: 86].
For MVP Systems (Mode "B")
- [cite_start]
- Ensure the A/B switch is set to "B"[cite: 91].
- Set the 9 code switches to a personalized setting. [cite_start]DO NOT set all switches to the same position[cite: 106].
- Proceed to Step 3 to pair this new code with your receiver or operator.
Step 3: Pairing with the Receiver
Method 1: MVP Door Operator
- [cite_start]
- Momentarily press and release the Program Button on the deluxe wall station[cite: 14]. [cite_start]
- The RED LED and the work light on the operator will turn ON[cite: 15]. [cite_start]
- Press and hold the button on your DC-MAG transmitter[cite: 19]. [cite_start]
- When the operator learns the code, the LED and work light will turn OFF[cite: 19].
- Release the transmitter button. [cite_start]The programming is complete[cite: 20].
Note: If the LED blinks, hold the Program button for 5 seconds to clear memory and start over[cite: 28].
Method 2: MVP Receiver
- Momentarily press and release the Program Button on the receiver. [cite_start]The Indicator LED will turn ON[cite: 2]. [cite_start]
- Press and hold the button on your DC-MAG transmitter[cite: 3]. [cite_start]
- When the receiver learns the code, the Indicator LED will turn OFF[cite: 3]. [cite_start]
- Release the transmitter button[cite: 4].
Method 3: GTO / Mighty Mule Gate Openers
- [cite_start]
- Ensure the A/B switch is in the "A" position[cite: 85]. [cite_start]
- Locate the "LEARN REMOTE" button or "ON/OFF" switch on your gate operator control board[cite: 68]. [cite_start]
- Follow the specific programming procedure outlined in your original Gate Opener Installation Manual[cite: 69].
