These remotes are designed for use with most modern garage door and gate systems from Chamberlain, LiftMaster, and Craftsman. They provide reliable wireless control and can operate multiple doors, gates, or external receivers from a single transmitter.
Compatibility
- Compatible with Chamberlain, LiftMaster, and Craftsman garage door openers manufactured after 1997 (excluding Craftsman Series 100).
- Works with most LiftMaster gate operators, commercial door operators, and compatible external receivers.
- Each button on the remote can be programmed to a different operator or receiver.

Safety warnings

- Monitor the door or gate until it is fully closed. Never allow anyone to walk or drive under a moving door or gate.
Before You Start Programming
- Verify that the garage door area is clear of all obstructions.
- Confirm that the opener’s light works; the flashing light is used as feedback during programming.
- Locate the opener’s LEARN button. You may need a ladder and may need to remove the light lens cover to see it.
- Identify the color of the LEARN button. The remotes support the following colors:
- White
- Yellow
- Purple (may appear brown over time)
- Orange
- Red
Programming Options by LEARN Button Color
Wi-Fi / myQ models (White or Yellow LEARN button) – Using the myQ App
Highly recommended for openers with built-in Wi-Fi or “Powered by myQ” branding.
- Confirm your opener shows a Wi-Fi or Powered by myQ logo, or is listed as myQ compatible.
- On your smartphone, download and open the myQ app.
- Follow the myQ app instructions to connect your garage door opener to your home Wi-Fi network.
- Once the opener is connected in the app, scan the QR code on the back of the remote control.
- Follow the on-screen prompts in the myQ app to complete remote programming.
After setup in the myQ app, you can name your remote, view access history, and receive notifications whenever the remote activates the opener.
Yellow, Purple, Orange, or Red LEARN Button – Programming with the LEARN Button
Use this method for openers with a yellow, purple (brown), orange, or red LEARN button.
- On the remote, press and hold the two smaller buttons at the same time until the red LED turns on solid (about 6 seconds), then release them.
- On the opener, press and release the LEARN button once. The LEARN indicator will light.
- Within 20 seconds, press and release the desired remote button twice. The red LED on the remote will flash intermittently.
- The opener light will flash and the garage door will move briefly, indicating that the code has been learned.
- Within 3 seconds of the door movement, press and release any button on the remote to complete the process.
Test: Press the programmed button. The opener should activate the door or gate.
Yellow LEARN Button – Programming Using the Wall Control Panel
For openers with a yellow LEARN button that are controlled by an interior control panel.
- On the remote, press and hold the two smaller buttons until the red LED turns on solid (about 6 seconds), then release.
- At the wall control panel, place the opener into remote programming mode:
- Standard multi-button control panel: Lift the push bar, then press the LEARN button twice until the panel LED pulses.
- Push-button door control: Press and hold the light button, then press and release the push button. The LED will begin to flash.
- Smart Control Panel: Press MENU, scroll to PROGRAM, then to REMOTE. Do not follow additional on-screen instructions; proceed directly to the next step.
- Within 20 seconds of entering programming mode, press and release the desired button on the remote twice. The red LED on the remote will flash intermittently.
- The opener light will flash and the door will move briefly.
- Within 3 seconds of the door movement, press and release any button on the remote to complete programming.
Test: Press the programmed button to confirm operation.
White LEARN Button – Programming with the LEARN Button on the Opener
- Press and release the opener’s LEARN button. The LEARN LED will light.
- Within 30 seconds, press and hold the remote button you want to program.
- Release the button when the opener’s light flashes and/or you hear two clicks from the opener.
Test: Press the programmed button to confirm that the opener activates.
White LEARN Button – Programming Using the Control Panel
- Put the opener into programming mode from the wall control:
- Standard multi-button control panel: Lift the push bar, then press the LEARN button twice until the LED pulses.
- Push-button door control: Press and hold the light button, then press and release the push button. The LED will begin to flash.
- Smart Control Panel: Select MENU, then PROGRAM, and follow the on-screen steps to begin remote programming.
- Within 30 seconds, press and hold the desired button on the remote.
- Release the button when the opener light flashes and/or you hear two clicks.
Test: Press the programmed button to verify successful setup.
Testing & Troubleshooting
- Successful test: Press the programmed remote button. The garage door or gate should activate.
- If it does not activate, wait until the opener’s LEARN LED turns off (for white or yellow LEARN buttons this can take up to 3 minutes), then repeat the appropriate programming steps.
- If you previously programmed the same remote button to a different opener with another LEARN button color, reprogram the remote using the multi-color (yellow/purple/orange/red) LEARN procedure above so that it is correctly learned to the white LEARN opener.
Battery Replacement
The red LED on the remote will stop flashing or become very dim when the battery is low. Replace the battery as soon as possible.
- Battery type: 3V CR2032 coin-cell battery (non-rechargeable).
Replacing the Battery – 3-Button Remote (L993M / CH363 / CH363C)
- On the back of the remote, use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to loosen the captive screw until it turns freely.
- With the buttons facing upward, carefully separate the top housing from the bottom. If it does not separate, confirm the screw is fully loosened.
- If the circuit board comes away from the buttons, gently reposition it using the alignment holes on the board.
- Using a cotton swab or similar non-metallic tool, slide the old battery out of its holder.
- Insert the new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Align the top and bottom housings and press them together until they snap into place. Tighten the captive screw until the housing is secure, but do not overtighten.
Replacing the Battery – 2-Button Keychain Remote (L932M / CH382 / CH382C)
- With the buttons facing down, insert the blade of a small flat-head screwdriver into the seam at a corner of the remote and gently twist to separate the housings.
- Lift the top housing away from the bottom housing.
- If the circuit board comes loose from the buttons, carefully realign it using the guide holes.
- Following the “REMOVE” arrow printed on the board, push the old battery out of its holder with a cotton swab.
- Following the “INSERT” arrow printed on the board, install the new CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
- Align the top and bottom housings and press them together until they snap closed.
WARNING – Coin-cell battery safety:
- This product uses a small button/coin-cell battery. Swallowing a battery can cause severe internal burns in as little as two hours and may be fatal.
- Keep new and used batteries out of reach of children.
- If you suspect a battery has been swallowed or inserted into any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
- Do not recharge, disassemble, crush, or incinerate coin-cell batteries.
- Dispose of used batteries promptly in accordance with local regulations; do not discard in household trash.
