How do you program a G1T remote?

Genie G1T-BX Programming Instructions and Battery Replacement

There are two different ways to program a Genie G1T-BX depending on which model you have.

For models with a learn code button follow section A. 

For models with a program set buttton follow section B.

Follow section C to change the battery.

Follow section D to erase all radio controls from your Genie garage door opener.

A.  Learn Code Button Programming Instructions

1.  Remove the pull tab from the bottom of the battery.

2.  Press and release the learn code button on your garage door opener.  The red LED will blink rapidly.

3.  Press and release the remote button.  The red LED will stop blinking and stay on.

4.  Press and release the remote button again.  The red LED will turn off.

5.  Press and release the remote button to operate the door.  Your remote is now programmed.

B.  Program Set Button Programming Instructions

1.  Remove the pull tab from the bottom of the battery.

2.  Press and hold the program set button on your garage door opener until the round LED turns blue.

3.  Release the program set button and the long LED will blink purple.

4.  Press and release the remote button.  The long LED will turn steady purple.

5.  Press and release the remote button again.  Both LEDs will blink blue and turn off.

7.  Press and release the remote button to operate the door.  Your remote is now programmed.

C.  Replacing the Battery

1.  Push in and down on the bottom front of the remote to slide the battery cover off.

2.  Slide the old battery out toward the bottom of the remote.

3.  Slide the new CR2032 battery in positive side up and slide the cover back on.

4.  Properly dispose of the old battery.

D.  Erase Garage Door Opener Memory

1.  Press and hold the learn code or program set button until the LED light goes out.

2.  Reprogram and remotes or keypads you still want to use.
