My door frame has a piece of hardy board trim that is 1 5/8" wide, right where the molding needs to attach. The moulding is 1 15/16 where it attaches. Can the moulding be trimmed down to fit? Or do I have to replace the hardy board trim with wider trim? Does your product easily nail in to hardy board?

Hi, this product is rigid plastic and will be hard to trim. It can be nailed to your trim but we recommend predrilling it first.
