The LiftMaster 811LMX is a single-button handheld transmitter designed for commercial and gated-community access systems that use Security+ 2.0 Encrypted DIP technology. It provides reliable, secure control of compatible LiftMaster gate operators, commercial door operators, and add-on receivers by transmitting an encrypted rolling code on tri-band frequencies for strong performance in high-interference environments. Typical use cases include replacement remotes for facilities, vehicle visor remotes for fleet access, and upgrades for sites standardizing on Security+ 2.0 Encrypted DIP. It is commonly paired with LiftMaster commercial receivers that support Encrypted DIP programming, such as the 850LM Universal Receiver, and is not intended for older learn-button-only or non–Security+ 2.0 systems.
Programming is straightforward: set the remote’s encrypted DIP switch pattern to match the corresponding Encrypted DIP channel configured on the compatible receiver, then test operation; no learn-button pairing is used in this mode. The Security+ 2.0 platform employs enhanced encryption to help prevent code grabbing and unauthorized duplication, while tri-band operation (310/315/390 MHz) helps maintain dependable range in RF-challenging sites. For safe operation, use only with operators and receivers that explicitly list Security+ 2.0 Encrypted DIP compatibility, and ensure the access system includes properly installed, monitored safety devices per UL 325 and local codes. Range and performance depend on site conditions, antenna placement, and receiver orientation.
