LiftMaster 828LM MyQ Internet Gateway

The LiftMaster 828LM MyQ Internet Gateway is a network bridge that adds smartphone control and real-time monitoring to compatible LiftMaster MyQ-enabled garage door openers and lighting accessories. Connected to your home router via Ethernet, it links your opener to the cloud so you can open, close, and check door status from the MyQ app, receive activity alerts, and set schedules for everyday convenience. Ideal as an upgrade or replacement part for an existing system, the 828LM communicates with MyQ devices over a secure 900 MHz RF link (Security+ 2.0), delivering reliable residential garage access control without relying on Wi‑Fi inside the garage.

Installation is simple: plug the gateway into your router and power, create or sign in to a MyQ account (iOS/Android), add the gateway by its serial number, then pair compatible devices using their Learn buttons. The 828LM works with LiftMaster openers that have MyQ built in (typically models with a yellow Learn button, circa 2011 and newer), and it can enable many earlier Security+ units when paired with a MyQ Control Panel such as the 888LM. It also supports select MyQ lighting accessories like the 823LM Remote Light Switch and 825LM Remote Light Control for whole‑home convenience. For safety, remote close commands trigger required audible and visual warnings and the system depends on properly functioning photo eyes. A broadband internet connection and an available LAN port on your router are required; indoor placement within RF range of the opener is recommended for best performance.
