LiftMaster 976LM Security+ 390MHz Keyless Entry

The LiftMaster 976LM Security+ Keyless Entry is a wireless exterior keypad for controlling compatible garage door openers using a secure personal PIN. Designed for older LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Sears Craftsman operators that use 390 MHz Security+ rolling code technology, it provides convenient, key-free access without carrying a remote. The unit operates on a 9-volt battery and features a protective flip-up cover and backlit keys for visibility. Typical use is residential, mounting outside the garage and activating a single compatible operator with a 4-digit PIN.

Compatibility is limited to Security+ 390 MHz systems identified by a red/orange Learn button on the opener head (generally late 1990s to mid-2000s models). It is not compatible with Security+ 315 MHz units (purple Learn), Security+ 2.0 systems (yellow Learn), or older dip-switch/Billion Code units (green Learn). Programming is done at the opener by pressing the Learn button, then entering a personal PIN on the keypad and pressing Enter; a temporary PIN feature can be set for guests or deliveries and later cleared.
