The LiftMaster Car2U Repeater Kit is a compatibility bridge that allows vehicles equipped with the Lear Car2U in‑vehicle universal home remote to operate LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and many Craftsman garage door openers that use Security+ 2.0 technology (typically identified by a yellow Learn button on the opener head, common on models manufactured from about 2011 and newer). Installed near the opener, the plug-in repeater learns the signal from your Car2U buttons and then relays a compatible command to the door operator, solving programming failures that occur when Car2U attempts to pair directly with newer Security+ 2.0 systems.
Setup is straightforward: program the Car2U button in your vehicle to the repeater following the included steps, then use the opener’s Learn button to pair the repeater to the operator. Once trained, pressing your Car2U button will reliably open and close the door just like a handheld remote. This kit is intended for residential garage applications where Car2U is present and direct pairing is not supported; it is not the same as the HomeLink repeater (use the HomeLink-specific kit if your vehicle has HomeLink rather than Car2U). For best results, install the repeater within range of both the opener and the vehicle, avoid mounting behind large metal objects that can block radio signals, and test the door’s safety reversal system after programming to ensure proper operation.
