The LiftMaster LPEXP CAPXL Loop Detector Input Board is a factory accessory that adds dedicated loop-detector inputs to a CAPXL smart access control unit. Designed for vehicle access applications, it provides connection points for external inductive vehicle loop detectors (not included), allowing the CAPXL to recognize vehicle presence and execute programmed actions such as free-exit, hold-open, or safety/shadow functions at gates and barrier arms. This replacement/upgrade module integrates with the CAPXL control logic so installers can route vehicle detection signals to the CAPXL’s relays for coordinated gate operation in residential, commercial, and community entrances.
As a low-voltage internal expansion board, the LPEXP is installed inside the CAPXL enclosure and connected to the controller using the provided harness. Once wired to your loop detector modules and loops in the driveway, input behavior is configured through the CAPXL installer interface or associated LiftMaster programming tools to match site requirements and safety standards. For best results, follow LiftMaster wiring diagrams and local codes; loop layout and tuning should comply with UL 325 and applicable gate safety practices. Use with compatible LiftMaster CAPXL systems; verify model compatibility and current firmware before installation.
