The LiftMaster OES-EDSR Optical Edge Sensor Kit (Sender/Receiver) is an OEM monitored safety-edge solution designed for LiftMaster gate operators and commercial door operators that support Optical Edge (OES) inputs. Installed inside a compatible sensing-edge extrusion on the leading edge of a gate or door, the paired optical sender and receiver create an internal infrared “through-beam.” When the edge is compressed during contact, the beam is interrupted and the operator receives a monitored signal to stop and reverse, providing entrapment protection in compliance with UL 325 when used with compatible equipment.
Ideal for new installations or as a replacement part/upgrade for existing monitored safety edges, this OES sender/receiver kit connects to the operator’s dedicated monitored edge terminals via a low-voltage, two-wire interface provided by the operator. Typical applications include residential and commercial slide and swing gates, rolling steel doors, and sectional doors using an approved edge extrusion. Installation involves seating the sender and receiver inside the edge channel, routing the lead wires to the operator, aligning the optics, and completing the operator’s edge learn/programming procedure. For safety and reliability, use only with LiftMaster operators that specify OES compatibility and test the edge function regularly per UL 325 and the operator manual.
