This bottom sensing edge houses the OES optical components to detect contact along the door’s lower leading edge and signal the operator to stop and reverse, helping meet monitored entrapment protection requirements under UL 325 when used with compatible LiftMaster commercial door operators and OES electronics. Supplied in a bulk roll, it is cut to length for specific door widths and is intended for both new installs and field replacement of worn or damaged rolling-door OES edges.
Engineered for the OES rolling-door profile, the OES-RD50 accepts the LiftMaster optical transmitter and receiver modules that create an internal light path; compression or damage to the edge interrupts the beam and reports a fault or reversal command to the operator. It mounts to the door’s bottom bar using the appropriate retainer from the OES rolling door kit and is typically routed back to the operator via a coil cord or take-up system as specified by the door/application. Final connection and setup are completed on the operator’s monitored sensing-edge/OES input per the LiftMaster commercial operator manual (e.g., Logic 5.0 and newer). For safety and reliability, installation and testing should be performed by a qualified technician, and the edge should be function-tested regularly.
