This operator is myQ enabled for smart control and monitoring; when paired with the LiftMaster Internet Gateway (model 828LM, if not already integrated in your setup), you can open, close, and receive activity alerts from a smartphone. Security+ 2.0 technology uses encrypted, tri-band radio control for strong signal reliability and enhanced protection against interference.
Engineered for properly balanced sectional doors with torsion springs, the LiftMaster 8500 is not designed for extension-spring-only systems or rolling steel/one-piece doors. It operates from a standard 120V, 60 Hz household outlet and supports Security+ 2.0 remote controls operating on tri-band 310/315/390 MHz. Safety is built in with The Protector System photoelectric sensors and UL 325 compliance, and a manual release allows operation during emergencies. Compatibility extends to myQ accessories and an optional standby power accessory (475LM) for backup operation during power outages, as well as a plug-in remote light that can be positioned in a convenient location within the garage.
